Welcome to Temple Israel
About Our Community
As a Jewish community in New Hampshire, we are small but close-knit. Here, you won’t be lost in the crowd—you’ll be part of a supportive and welcoming group where people truly know and care for one another. Whether it’s through fun social events, opportunities to volunteer, or simply showing up for each other in times of joy and need, we strive to embody the Jewish values of kindness, tzedakah, and tikkun olam. Our monthly events provide opportunities for learning, connection, and celebration—because being Jewish isn’t just about what we do, it’s about the relationships we build.
A Place of Belonging
At Temple Israel, we believe that everyone deserves a spiritual home where they can feel a sense of connection, community, and belonging. That's why we welcome individuals, couples, and families of all ages, ethnicities, family types and sexual orientations to join our beautiful community.
Our Services: A Blend of Tradition and Spirit
Our Shabbat services are a highlight of the week, filled with singing, heartfelt prayer, and inspiring sermons that explore the intersection of Jewish tradition and modern life. Our clergy and lay leaders work together to create a warm and engaging atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome and included.
After services, we gather together for a kiddush luncheon, where we share food, stories, and laughter. This is a special time to catch up with friends, meet new people, and build relationships that extend far beyond the synagogue walls.
Celebrating the Jewish Year
Throughout the year, we celebrate the Jewish holidays with their traditional distinctive melodies and rituals. From the joy of Simchat Torah to the solemnity of Yom Kippur, we mark each holiday with a deep sense of reverence and joy. Our services and programs are designed to be accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of their level of Jewish knowledge or background.
A Community that Cares
Temple Israel is not just a synagogue – we are a community that cares about each other and the world around us. We offer a range of programs and activities that foster spiritual growth, social connection, and meaning. Whether you're looking for a place to learn, to serve, or simply to belong, we invite you to join us and become a part of our vibrant community.
Learning as a Lifelong Pursuit
Being an essential for growing functionally, intellectually, and socially as individuals, Jewish Tradition values learning. Temple Israel offers two programs designed to meet diverse interests and needs. Our Torah Study program offers in-depth exploration of the Hebrew scriptures, while our Jewish Learning Experience for children provides a fun and engaging introduction to Jewish values and traditions. We also have robust traditional Bat Mitzvah training and Bar Mitzvah training programs. We are very grateful to have the only traditional Bat Mitzvah training program in the Manchester area.
